Who are Davey & Goliath?
The Lutheran Church produced the children's stop-motion animation television show Davey & Goliath from 1960 through 1975. The theme song was "A Mighty Fortress is Our God."  Original animators and creators were Lutheran, Ruth Clokey and her husband, Art, who was the creator of Gumby. A 2001 Mountain Dew commercial featuring Davey won awards and brought renewed interest in him. ~View 2.5MB (long wait for 56k modem) commercial. The ELCA returned Davey to the airwaves with a 2004 Christmas & a 2005 Easter special on the Hallmark Channel. Augsburg Fortress used Davey and Goliath for their 2004 & 2005 Vacation Bible School curriculum. First Lutheran featured Davey & Goliath for our 2004 VBS Camp Creation . Visit Davey's website.
