AN OPEN INVITATION: All men and boys from First Lutheran, St. Paul’s, and St. John’s are considered members of Lutheran Men in Mission (LMM) of Warren. We invite you to become an active part of our fellowship. Can’t commit to the whole year? No problem. Just come when you can. We’d love to see you.

LMM usually meets the third Tuesday of the month at 7:30 p.m.
There is a brief business and planning meeting followed by a program and refreshments. Add to this a lot of humor and great fellowship, and you get a pretty good idea of who we are!

OUR HISTORY

On the local level, First Lutheran Church has had a Men’s group for as long as anyone can remember. In years past, it was known as “The Brotherhood.” Now it’s the Lutheran Men in Mission. Our goals reflect those of the ELCA as we plan outreach and social events for our church family. Additionally, many of our men are informally mentoring younger men and boys in the congregation.

GOALS OF THE LUTHERAN MEN IN MISSION

1.   To help men to grow in and live out their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ
2.   To afford men opportunities for spiritual growth and development of an evangelical attitude, through prayer and the study of Scripture
3.   To invite men to faith in Christ and participation in the life and witness of the congregation
4.   To enable men of the church to support the mission and ministries of the ELCA

Tuesday, February 5th: Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper
Come and taste the awesome flapjacks whose recipe has been handed down from generation to generation since the last millennium! A free will offering will support the LMM Scholarship fund for Gettysburg seminarians. Dinner will be served at 6:00 P.M. It’s a good meal for a great cause and you even have some fun while you’re there!!

Tuesday, April 15th: Bible Study - We hope to have a guest bible study leader! Look for details in the bulletin!

Tuesday, May 20th: Ladies Night Dinner and Talent and Guts Night (2 for the price of 1!)
Ladies, get ready for a great meal and some serious talent (some would call it that, we don’t)!! Dinner begins at 6:00 P.M.

Saturday, June 7th: Conference 2 breakfast. Our men host this outing for all men in Warren and McKean counties. Location still to be set

Tuesday, June 17th: Visitation night. Join us as we visit some of our homebound folks from the church.

Saturday, June 21st: Wienie Roast for returning confircampers and families! Join us at 11:30 A.M. for some delicious food as we welcome back the Confirmation camp students!

Tuesday, July 15th: Bearhaven Picnic for men and boys! We’ll meet at the church at 5:30 and head up to Gary Lester’s house in Russell for dinner and fun!

Tuesday, August 19th: Corn Roast at White Pine. We’ll leave the church at 5:30 P.M. and (hopefully!) find our way to Chuck Merroth’s camp in Tionesta by the time the corn and dogs are done!

Thursday, August 21st: Kraut making. Ever see how cabbage gets turned into Kraut? You can if you come to the church at 7:30 P.M.!

Tuesday, September 16th: Bible Study Hopefully with another guest leader!

Tuesday, October 21st: Annual Sauerkraut Dinner. Come and taste the fruits (or is cabbage a vegetable?) of our labors. The food is served at 6:00 P.M.

Tuesday, November 18th: Bible Study

Tuesday, December 16th: Fruit basket delivery at 6:00 P.M. Help us deliver fruit baskets to those men who can no longer be at our meetings.

Saturday, January 3rd: Planning breakfast for 2007 (our centennial!). Food is set on the table at 8:30 A.M.
